Thank you for a great 2019 music festival

The journey to make the Bands for Badges Music Festival happen begins and ends with a million thank you’s to so many people, without whom this event surely could not have come to fruition. The countless hours of planning, the week of assembly and organizing, the day of getting it done and day after clean up can only be attributed to the commitment of people who truly believe in why we are here providing a festival to raise money for those in the Armed Forces and our local Police and Fire Departments who find themselves in times of need.

Our gratitude begins with Wendy and Mike from Cape Cod Fairgrounds for giving us the venue to hold this event and believing it was a worthy event to be held at the Fairgrounds. The grounds themselves, the ample parking and gate availability made it the perfect location for us.

We thank Brian at Marathon Sound and Joe at Mobile Stages, LLC for their generosity with the sound and staging. Without these, a musical event of this magnitude could not have happened. Having two stages and a common sound system made the show run smoothly and seamless.

An event of this nature cannot happen without the support of our business community and their willingness to sponsor this event. Our thanks to our corporate sponsors, Dan and Robin Puccillo of Black Dog and their staff, including their marketing director, Nikki DeCicchi for their expertise in helping to put this event on the map and to Mark Ferreira, Sr. and Mark Ferreira, Jr. of John’s Liquors and all of their staff for providing the alcohol and servers and for their knowledge of the licensing process.

Our platinum sponsor - Cape Cod 5 Bank.

Our Gold sponsors - Seafood Sam’s, Recovery Champions, Turner, Inc.,/Obsession Boats and Trico Builders.

Our Bronze Sponsors – The Flying Bridge, Kitchen Sales, Inc., Falmouth Engineering, Dairy Queen, Falmouth Ready-Mix, The Chart Room, Atlantic Human Resources, Living with a Green Heart, RDS Trucking, PAL of Cape Cod, Hamilton Tree and Landscape.

Our supporters – Carpet Barn, Bourne Recreation Authority, Silver Lounge, Cape Cod Bagel, Landfall Restaurant, Loud Fuel, Flynnie’s Bar 3, Hartel Commercial Real Estate, Lawrence-Carlin Insurance, Hy-Line, and Dunkin’ (Local Franchisee-Cadete Corporation).

Special thanks to Mahoney’s for providing the beautiful decorative plants including delivery and pickup;  Sheriff James Cummings and his staff including Deputies Cabral, Wiseman and Coyle for providing the tents and manpower to put them up with the willing inmates at the House of Correction and providing the tables and chairs;  Chief Edward Dunne of Falmouth Police Department and Chief Michael Small of Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department for their commitment to making this event as safe as possible. Thank you Deputy Chief Tim Smith from Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department as our liaison to FFRD.

A special thanks to Scully from Dalton and the Sheriffs for starting us off with a completely voluntary acoustic show and to the members of Crooked Coast, Luke Vose, John McNamara and Ben Elder for the promotional video for the Bands for Badges event

Of course, the Bands who provided their time and even more importantly, their tremendous talent for playing for us and keeping us singing and dancing all day. Entrain, Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, Crooked Coast, The Moonlighters, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band and Steve Smith and the Nakeds.

Thanks to the stage crew who set up the bands’ equipment  including Donnie Cross, Dave Moore, Mike Johnson and Taylor Gonsalves.

Our gratitude extends to the providers of food for the event – Bobby Burke of Jack in the Beanstalk for providing the food for the staff, volunteers and bands; Rick and JoAnne Lemoine for providing the food and water for the VIP area and staff. Foodzilla and Eric Christinson for providing great food to our concert attendees. When another food vendor was unable to attend along with Foodzilla. Eric said “Don’t worry, I got it covered” and he did.

To keep the grounds neat and provide clean restrooms for all, our ultimate gratitude to CPR (Clean Portable Restrooms) provided by the Noonan Company, for their very gracious discount to provide the best possible sanitary environment for all attending the Band for Badges event .

Thank you, Tracy Williams and your staff for providing the best security we could possibly ask for.

We are so grateful for the Board of Selectmen who have been so supportive of this event since its inception in 2018.

Our thanks for Allen Bagg for one of the tents.

Up all night and still available to help the next day, our sincere thanks to Chad Smith and Brendan Smith for keeping an eye on the stages and sound equipment overnight.

With Lori Lori from PIXY as our emcee, the flow of the day was perfect. Thank you so much! PIXY’s support with on-air support was invaluable.

Our photographer. Ashley Sylvia from Wallflower Photography, captured all of the amazing moments of this show.

An event of this size cannot possibly happen without VOLUNTEERS!! We are so grateful for the people who gave up all or a part of their day to help us with this event. With the exception of a couple of vendors, this event was staffed completely by volunteers and we will be forever grateful for their support and commitment! Some even stayed beyond their original scheduled times to help out when we became shorthanded toward the end of the day. We truly could not have done it without you!!

Last, but by no means least, the Board of Directors for Bands for Badges, all volunteers as well, have used all of their available resources to secure services, sponsors, volunteers, vendors and whatever you could possible think of to make this event possible. There were peaks and valleys and many meetings starting in 2018. This event could not have occurred without them. The Board includes our President, Tim Smith, Treasurer, Nancy Smith, Clerk KC Clarkson, and members, Boyd DeMello, Carolyn Woods, Joe Martinho, Gerry Martin, Mark Ferreira, Doug Brown, Robin Brown, Cheryl Atherton, John Kotfila and Harry Turner. Your commitment to turning out a top quality music festival does not go unappreciated.
